International Recognition
The independent body Times Higher Education ranks the University of the Aegean among the leading academic institutions on the «Industry» indicator in the field of Social Sciences for 2026. The strength of our School in knowledge transfer, through linking research with industry, is recognised internationally.
The contribution of our own Department is decisive, as its strategic objective is the development of innovative interdisciplinary fields, the strengthening of the link between research, education and the labour market, as well as the systematic exploitation of research results for the benefit of society and the economy, within a framework of quality, outreach and international orientation.

The Department invests in the development of new interdisciplinary fields of knowledge and study programmes in cutting-edge subjects, such as Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, with an emphasis on applications in culture and the creative economy.

Through work placements, partnerships with organisations and continuous communication with the labour market, the Department strengthens the link between education and contemporary professional requirements and the needs of society.

Accreditation of the Undergraduate Programme of Study
In 2021, the Department's Undergraduate Programme of Study was accredited by HAHE for full compliance with the quality standards of Greek and European higher education (ESG), receiving a five-year quality accreditation.

Five-Year Quality Data (2019–2024)
The report presents the key quality data of the Department's Undergraduate Programme of Study for the five-year period 2019–2024, with figures on admissions, student population, mobility, performance and the professional integration of graduates, as well as the main findings and recommendations for improvement.
Internal Evaluation Team (OM.E.A.)
The OM.E.A. is responsible for the design, organisation and systematic monitoring of the internal and external evaluation procedures and activities of the Department. It sees to the completion of the evaluation questionnaires, informs the members of the Department of the results, gathers the necessary evaluation data and prepares the internal evaluation reports for every two consecutive teaching semesters.
