Short Biography
Katerina Vgena is a PhD holder of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean, with a thesis on Security and Privacy Protection in the Social Design of Information Systems, with an emphasis on digital identity and geolocation. She holds a Master's degree in European Societies and European Integration and a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). She has participated as a researcher in funded projects (HFRI Cloud-InSPiRe, e-Aegean CulTour) with publications on privacy and social media. As an adjunct lecturer of the Department she teaches the course "Collaborative Learning & Social Interaction in the Digital Age".
