Short Biography

Stelarc is an internationally recognised pioneer of performance and media arts whose work explores alternative anatomical architectures of the body using prosthetics, robotics, biomedical instruments, virtual systems and the internet. He has performed and exhibited across Japan, Korea, China, Europe, the USA, South America and Australia.

He received the Ars Electronica Golden Nica (2010) and honorary doctorates from the Ionian University (2016) and the Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow (2023).
