Short Biography

Angelos Delivorrias (1937–2018) was an archaeologist and art historian. He studied in Thessaloniki, Athens and Germany and received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen (1972). He directed the Benaki Museum from 1973 to 2014, overseeing its extensive renovation, and taught Art History at the University of Athens (1992–2005).

He was named an honorary doctor of the University of the Aegean (2005) and elected a full member of the Academy of Athens (2016).
